A Day in the Life of an Actor

It is extremely hot outside in many locations and the thought of going to another casting call or audition is a bit tiring.
You have to now decide if this is really a path you want to take for yourself, either part-time or full-time.
What is your level of commitment?
Are you making it to your classes each week?  Are you practicing at home for the skills that will get you through an audition or to the next level if you succeed past the audition?  How prepared are you?
Are your photos up to date? How about your resume?
What can you say about yourself?  What opportunities have you taken for yourself that could keep you up to date and in practice?
There are lots of opportunities available as either an assistant, second chair or position, or even volunteer opportunities.
The business does cost money as well unless you are really lucky and there are a few really lucky people.
The cost of understanding the business is not free and it is competitive.
Nobody wants to give up their secret to success easily.
The cost of being analyzed by a casting direction can cost $30+.
The cost of classes, photos, comp. cards, and resumes will take a bit more from your wallet.
The cost of finding a reliable and talented agent is another fee.
Your time, gas, travel and kit to be prepared in another item that will add to your budget that not many include in helping your understand the business.
Also earning and learning skill or gaining those valuable successes to  your resume.
Be prepared to say yes to many things that you are not quite so excited about.  Some roles are duds and should be classified as duds but other can be surprisingly great filler roles that add to your style or sense of adventure and acceptance of your ability to step outside the box.
I hope your are not just sitting at home and avoiding your potential.
